Regulation Updates for May
1. Updating on the NG28 February 2024 Newsletter: India TEC issued notification on March 28, 2024 extending the mandatory security testing requirement for all Wi-Fi customer premises equipment (CPE) and IP routers from April 1, 2024, to July 1, 2024.Also, issued another notification on April 1, 2024 which extended deadline for the implementation of 10 of the products under Phase III and IV from April 1, 2024, to August 1, 2024. Besides, TEC has notified the extension of ILAC Test Reports acceptance for Phase V Products, from June 30, 2024 to July 31, 2024,
2. On April 3, 2024, India TEC exempted the below parameters for all applicable ERs until June 30, 2024.5G NR (FR1)5G NR (FR1 and FR2 interworking with other radios)5G NR (FR2)
3. Brazil ANATEL published Act No. 2921 on March 15, 2024, regarding technical requirements of Personal Mobile Service Radio Frequency Repeaters with 4G LTE and 5G NR Technologies. ANATEL also published a new Act 5155 for mobile phone chargers on April 17, 2024, which will come into force on October 14, 2024, and will revoke Act 5259.
4. Vietnam MIC issued Official Circular 04/2023/TT-BTTTT which amends Circular 02/2024/TT-BTTT on March 29, 2024, which will take effect May 15, 2024.
5. Argentina ANE published Resolution 153/2024 on March 26, 2024, which allows band 57-64GHz to be used by Short Range Devices (RCA).
6. The Republic of Côte d'Ivoire has a regulatory for products with broadcasting function, known as Haute Autorité de la Communication Audiovisuelle (HACA).
7. Serbia RATEL issued a new version of the Rulebook on Radio Equipment on March 22, 2024. The main update is that the validity of CoC will increase from 3 years to 5 years. This will come into force on June 1, 2024.
