?    Background

Garments, hats, gloves, socks and other daily wearable textile for children, towels, bed sheets, quilt covers, diapers, bibs and other textile for everyday use of children, as an indispensable part of infants’ and children’s life, their quality is increasingly valued by parents and market supervision departments.In order to ensure that textile products are harmless to infants’ and children’s body, Institute of Standardization of textile Industry, Development Center of Science and Technology of Textile Industry, National Center for Quality Supervision and Inspection of Textile Products and Shanghai Institute of Garment industry drafted the mandatory textile standard GB 31701-2015 Safety technical code for infants and children textile products.

NG28 provides testing service of mandatory standard GB 31701 for infants and children textile, in order to helps textile manufacturing and trading enterprises improving the compliance of product, and reducing the penalty rate of market supervision departments and the complaint rate of customers.

1. Applicable products

All infants and children textile sold in China.

Textile intended for garments: underwear, short sleeves, shirt, sweater, skirt, trousers, cotton-wadded jacket, down garment, pajamas, swimming suit, hat, socks, gloves, etc.;

Household textile: towel, handkerchief, bed sheet, pillowcase, quilt cover, blanket, quilt, diapers, bibs, etc.

2. Testing period

Routine: 4 working days.

3. Sample size

1-2 pieces of garments (please consult service personnel in case of special requirements).

4. Technical requirements in GB 31701

Clothing, lining and accessory of infants and children textile products shall meet the requirements of the corresponding safety category in GB 18401.
