AAFCO is short for the Association of American Feed Control Officials.In the early 1990s, AAFCO established the Pet Nutrition Committee, which put forward nutrition programs for dogs and cats from the perspectives of growth, breeding period and adult maintenance period. These nutrition programs are not only standards commonly used by many foreign pet food manufacturers, but are also the basis for enforcement by the FDA and USDA.Therefore, for domestic manufacturers, meeting AAFCO standards is an important link to enhance consumer recognition and expand overseas markets.
